Absentee Voting for August 3, 2010 Primary Election:  On the Application for Absentee Ballot, one of the following political party ballots must be selected:

Constitution Democrat

Libertarian

Republican
Reform

Non Partisan

Absentee Voting in Person:

Absentee Voting Office Hours

Beginning June 22
Monday thru Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Saturday, July 17, July 24, and July 31, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm

Final Day for Absentee Voting
Monday, August 2, with the office closing at 5:00 pm

  

Absentee Voting by Mail:

  • In order to receive an absentee ballot by mail you MUST send in a written request.  Exceptions:

    • A parent may request a ballot be mailed to their child or vice versa but the request is required to be made in person at our office
    • A person may request a ballot be mailed to their spouse but the request is required to be made in person at our office
    • Requests for an absentee ballot by mail must be received in our office no later than 5:00pm on Wednesday prior to the election in order to mail out a ballot.
      • If a request for absentee ballot is received after 5:00pm on the Wednesday prior to the election, regardless of when it was mailed, a ballot will NOT be forth coming.

 

  • Click here to print the Application for Absentee Ballot form.  The following items must be on your written request in order to receive a ballot by mail. 
    • Printed Name as Registered
    • Registered Address
    • Mailing Address (If different)
    • Reason for needing an Absentee Ballot
    • Phone Number, Birth Date, and last 4 digits of Social Security #
    • Signature (It must be signed)
    • Once you receive and vote your ballot it will need to be notarized before you mail it back in order for it to be counted.


General Information

Missouri does NOT have Early Voting - only Absentee Voting is permitted

Absentee Voting begins on the sixth Tuesday prior to the day of the election

 

Absentee Voting Eligibility

Eligibility in our jurisdiction:

  • Resident of Jackson County outside the corporate limits of the city of Kansas City. Kansas City voters go to: www.kceb.org for information.
  • You MUST have one of the following reasons for voting absentee
    • Absence from your voting jurisdiction on election day
    • You are incapacitated due to illness, injury or physical disability or you assist someone with illness, injury or disability
    • Religious belief or practice
    • Employment by an election authority
    • Incarceration
